Sneak peak|Flash Assignment

So here's a sneak peak of what I got up to today
 with regards to my flash assignment.
Dammmn but we fucked shit up..
Baby powder & a black studio in hindsight was not the best idea.
But the baby powder in my hair though..

On top of the world for a day

 So today my familia & I deccided to take a last minute road trip.
We ended exploring the peninsular, and what a sight it was.
Obviously I had my trusty camera handy to capture the moment.
At that moment I felt truly blessed to live in a country that had so much to offer.
None the less the view was breathtaking and we ended up
 having a picnic at the exact spot at which this photograph was taken.

Ahhh.. What a chaotic day with the family.
So we decided at the 11th hour that we were going to take one of our famous road trips.
We literally had 10 minutes to get up and ready to leave.
We decided to explore the peninsular and
ended up having a picnic on the side of the road!

Nude|Fashion - Unknown

So I don't have any wildly amazing photographs for you today,

 as I've recently discovered that I need money.

Therefore I need a job. So that is what I've been up to today.

 I do however have this beautiful piece for you to look at in the meantime.

Sneak peak|Landscape

Here's a sneak peak of what I got up to today.
Okay so the landscape thing isn't really my scene
 but there was something about this particular scene that drew my eye.

So here's whats up. Today I woke up feeling particularly inspired.
So i decided to take a drive with my pops
and record some of the amazing scenery in the cape.

So here's what I got up to today .

 A very good morning from my two favourite rascals.

Experimenting|Panning

So this was my first attempt at panning.
 okay Im lying this is my second attempt but trust me you don't wanna see my first attempt.
I took a series of photographs of my sister running
up and down our garden and i then merged the images together.

Experimenting with long exposures was quite a trip.
 Really keen on using this technique in future shoots.

Vacay selfie?

So, Im officially on vacay as of today and as soon as I left Vega
 I released that I don't know what to do to myself,
 Im so use to going home and stressing about assignments to come
 that my mind hasn't come to terms with the fact that for the next two weeks, Im free.
I can finally just take photos for the sake of taking photos .
I am so ganna love the hell out the next two weeks.

Yet another pinhole

One of my more successful double exposure pinhole images,
yeah its not great and it took me 25 tries but give me a break,
 how did your pinhole images come out the first time you did it?

Lunch .

So today our assignment was to tell a story
through a series of photographs using reflections.

I walked around town looking for a suitable subject
when I came across a park across from Woolies
where people were having lunch. What I noticed
about these people were that they were all eating lunch alone.
However if you look at the second two images you'll
see that they are alone in the actual image but in company in their reflection's.
Pretty cool I thought.

This man has been at the harbour since dawn,
 I thought it only appropriate to take his picture.
The highlight of this photograph was indeed the shadow
of the anonymous being.

So I took this photo in studio yesterday. It was meant to be
 a girl throwing her hair back and forth..
Oh well lets see if I can pass this shit off as "Fine Art"

The Moscow-based photographer specializes in taking photos that seem to be straight out of a fairy tale.

Surreal photography can transport us from the realm of reality into a dream-like world of wonder. Russian photographer Katerina Plotnikova does just that with her incredible photography. She uses powerful animals and delicate models, juxtaposed together, to create her artwork.

It may not sound like much, but when you see these pictures yourself, you’ll understand. It’s like a real-life Alice in Wonderland.

No doubt one of the most inspirational, influential
photographers, not only n photography but in my life today.
Her documentary has opened up a whole new world to me
and has change my perspective on photography and my
outlook on life.

For the love of Pinhole

Endless hours spent outside, countless days spent in the darkroom,
developing the negatives for our pinhole photography assignment.
It took me about 20 tries before I could print and frame
something I could be proud of. Pinhole is one of the most
stressful,most frustrating ways of taking photos, but I must admit
when you start to see your negatives develop in the developer,
it is one of the most satisfying feelings.
